Sunday 20th June is designated as this years ‘Day for Life’.
The annual ‘Day for Life’, inaugurated by Pope John Paul ii, celebrates the intrinsic value and dignity of each human life. In the United Kingdom we are faced with the prospect of ‘assisted suicide’ legislation being introduced.
As the Catholic community we believe that our lives are precious and ultimately belong to God, therefore only God can end our earthly life, uniting us with him in heaven. The Church teaches that life is to be nurtured from conception to natural death.
The Catholic Bishops of England and Wales have urged all God’s people to respect the gift of life.
A ‘Day for Life’ have produced some online resources for 2021. You can also donate to this cause here.
There is a webinar on assisted suicide on 12th July at 7.30pm, more information and booking here.
