Preparing Our Hearts for the Coming of Christ

“I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not nigh:
a star shall come forth out of Jacob,
and a sceptre shall rise out of Israel…”  Numbers 24:17

The ancient prophecy of the Star of Jacob shines brightly in these final days of Advent. As the Church enters the second half of this holy season, our prayer turns with deeper longing toward the coming of the Messiah. Through the beloved O Antiphons, those seven brief but powerful scriptural titles of Christ—we are invited to lift our eyes to the One who is Wisdom, Lord, Root of Jesse, Key of David, Radiant Dawn, King of the Nations, and God-with-us.

Beginning Wednesday 17 December and continuing until Christmas Day, our Crown of Advent Novena offers a prayerful path towards the Nativity of Our Lord. Each day, new resources will be uploaded to this page so that parishioners may pray, reflect, and journey together in hope.

This Novena weaves together the O Antiphons and the seven sacred “jewels” of the Advent Crown, forming a beautiful devotion offered especially for the conversion of a loved one or of many loved ones, who rest upon our hearts at this holy time.

As we await the rising of the true Morning Star, may these nine days prepare us to welcome Christ with renewed faith, deep peace, and joyful expectation.

Join us as we begin our Novena on 17 December and journey to the birth of Our Lord each day.
