Minutes and Strategy For Aylesbury Pastoral Area
Pastoral Area
This paper is written to give you a context for the notes of our last Deanery meeing which was held on Monday 7th October 2024.
The Deanery of St. John Fisher has had the honour of piloting the Synodal listening process , and over the last months we have been involved in an extensive listening process throughout the Deanery to give all parishioners ( young and old ) a real chance to voice their opinions and state how they would like any future Deanery / Parish changes to be made.
Five groups of Clergy and Parishioners focussed on different aspects of our faith, to develop ways of progressing the organisation and content of our Deanery life. The groups are;-
1) MISSION
2) YOUTH
3) PROPERTY / FINANCE
4) COMMUNICATIONS
5) DECISION MAKING STRUCTURES
The last Deanery meeting enabled Deanery Representatives to consider and discuss draft proposals. The main consultation will take place on Saturday 9th November at St. Clares. A single strategy document will be discussed at a meeting open to all at St. Michaels School on Thursday 21st November. Bishop David will attend, and this meeting will mark the end of the formal pilot process, however the actions coming out of the strategy will be planned and taken forward, after that meeting.
The formal strategy will be shared on this website when it becomes available.
