Life is a national pregnancy-support charity based on the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, helping hundreds of women every day. They are also now members of the Baby Loss Awareness Alliance.

The Alliance is made up of over 100 UK charities working in the maternal support sector helping those affected by pregnancy and baby loss.

About Baby Loss Awareness Week
Now in its 19th year, Baby Loss Awareness Week aims to raise awareness of the key issues around pregnancy and baby loss in the UK. This year baby loss awareness week is from 9th -15th October.

Throughout the week, bereaved parents, their families, and their friends unite to commemorate the lives of babies who died during pregnancy, at or soon after birth and in infancy.

The Week is also a platform to call for tangible improvements in policy, research, bereavement care and support.

How you can commemorate
Life’s Baby Loss Remembrance website has resources to help you share grace and mercy with those who’ve lost a pregnancy or a baby: Go to: https://blr.lifecharity.org.uk/

The Baby Loss Awareness Alliance also suggests illuminating or decorating your church in pink and blue during the Baby Loss Awareness Week.

The Alliance also suggests lighting a candle or holding a vigil during the global Wave of Light, which takes place at 7-8pm on 15 October. This is an internationally-recognised Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.
