Our diocesan youth ministry department, NYMO have announced that bookings are closed for the conference for young people being confirmed, BLAZE.

The highlight of Blaze is an opportunity to meet Bishop David who will confirm them in their parishes later in the year.

It is just ten years since the first Blaze when just 30 young people met at Thornton College on a Saturday in May to meet Bishop (Emeritus) Peter and enjoy a day unpacking the Gospel. Since then Blaze has grown with now almost 400 your people and 50 catechists attending a day packed with workshops, prayer, Mass, worship, games, fellowship and much more.

Fr Simon Penhalagan, the Episcopal Vicar for the Prophet Vicariate said

“Anyone who attends the Blaze day cannot help but witness that our Church is alive in the young and they are a vital witness for us all. The spirit of God is with them as they proclaim the Gospel on this day together as an adult, I am blessed with that Spirit too”

The day is popular, and even more so this year following the announcement that Sarah Kroger and Dom Quaglia will be headlining the day. However, for those groups who have missed out, Sarah and Dom will be on tour around parishes in our own diocese as well as St Chad’s Cathedral in Birmingham.
