OUR COMMITTment to the Environment
As a Diocese we are committed to caring for our environment and reducing our carbon footprint. We believe that it is our responsibility to be good stewards of the earth, safeguarding God’s creation and to do our part in preserving it for future generations.
We have begun the process of reviewing and consulting with our Trustees, parishes, fellow dioceses and carbon reduction experts to formulate a strategy to reduce our environmental impact. We will seek to install energy-efficient lighting and appliances where appropriate, to reduce our paper usage, and implement recycling programs. We are also exploring alternative energy sources, such as solar power, and heat pumps and are committed to using environmentally friendly cleaning products wherever possible.
These efforts are good for the environment and reflect our commitment to social justice and our responsibility to care for all of God’s creation. We invite our community to join us in this important work and to help us create a more sustainable diocese and ensure the future of our planet.
