Bishop David joined 40 young people from three secondary schools across our diocese for the annual schools ‘Faith In Action’ day.  The day is hosted by St Paul’s school in Milton Keynes and this year is their first in person meeting since 2019.

Pax Christi and the Columban Missionaries support St Paul’s in the delivery of the day which this year focussed on a theme of hospitality with particular attention to refugees and asylum seekers.

Bishop David reminded the young people that faith is not rules or religion it is a relationship with God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Calling them to action he asked

” If you believe in God, what is the implication of that?”

Columban Justice and Peace Education helps young people and educators explore the relationship between faith and action, w working through schools, parishes and collaborative projects. Pax Christi is the international Catholic movement for peace. Through prayer, education, campaigning and advocacy they work towards their vision of a world where people live free from the fear of violence in all its forms.

At the end of a day of learning, fun and reflection the young people were asked to make some commitments to ‘welcome the stranger’ as they go back to school and home.
