Over 200 young Catholics from the Diocese of Northampton joined more than 10,000 others at FLAME 2025, the largest-ever Catholic youth gathering in the UK, held at OVO Arena, Wembley.
FLAME, now in its sixth edition, has grown into an unmissable event for young Catholics, inspired by the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the UK in 2010. This year’s theme, “Unstoppable,” encouraged attendees to embrace their faith with confidence and perseverance.
One of the highlights of the day was an inspiring conversation between Bear Grylls and renowned Catholic speaker David Wells, in which Grylls shared his personal experiences of faith, resilience, and adventure.
Addressing the crowd, Bishop David Oakley of Northampton delivered a powerful message:
“You are the Church. In a world full of noise and distractions, your desire to seek Christ, to grow in faith, and to journey together as His disciples is a powerful witness.”
The energy and enthusiasm of the young people reflected the vibrant future of the Church. Through prayer, worship, music, and testimonies, FLAME 2025 left a lasting impact, strengthening the faith of all who attended.
As young people return to their parishes and schools, the Diocese of Northampton looks forward to seeing how this experience will shape and inspire them in their journey of faith.
