The parish communities of St Bernardine’s, Buckingham, and St Martin’s, Brackley, came together in joyful fellowship this summer as they celebrated their annual parish lunches.

Blessed with beautiful sunshine at both events, parishioners enjoyed an afternoon of friendship, conversation and shared food, demonstrating once again the warmth and generosity that are hallmarks of our parish communities.

The success of the lunches was made possible by the many volunteers who prepared and shared delicious homemade dishes, welcomed guests, served refreshments and helped with the setting up and clearing away. Others generously gave their time to run the donation bars and organise the ever-popular raffles, while many parishioners donated prizes to support the fundraising effort.

Although the final total is still being confirmed, the two events have already raised more than £1,000, with all proceeds going towards supporting parish projects across the community.

The annual summer lunches continue to be a much-loved tradition, reminding us that the Church grows not only through worship but also through the simple joy of sharing meals, serving one another and living out our faith together.
