Men aged 18 and over who are wondering whether God may be calling them to the priesthood are warmly invited to a “Come and See” Discernment Day on Saturday 28 March 2026, hosted by the Diocese of Northampton.
Fr Pius Amoako, Diocesan Vocations Director, is extending a personal and heartfelt invitation to young men from across the diocese to take part in this day of prayer, reflection, and open conversation.
“There is no pressure to sign up or commit to anything,” Fr Pius explains. “This is simply an opportunity to come and see, to ask questions, to seek clarification, and to talk honestly about anything that may be confusing or weighing on your heart when it comes to the priesthood.”
The day is designed to offer a relaxed, welcoming, and supportive environment for those who are exploring, questioning, or actively discerning a vocation. Alongside Fr Pius, seminarians and priests will be present to share their experiences of priestly life and to accompany participants as they reflect on God’s call.
“If you have questions, if something has been bothering you, or if you’re simply curious about the priesthood, this day is for you,” Fr Pius says. “There will be people there to listen, to guide you, and to help you discern.”
The Discernment Day will take place on Saturday 28 March 2026, beginning at 11:00am and concluding at 4:00pm, at Our Lady Help of Christians and St Lawrence, Olney
Fr Pius concludes:
“This is a personal invitation to you. Please come and join us. I am very much looking forward to seeing you on the day. God bless.”
