The Diocese of Northampton is delighted to host the Life in the Spirit Seminars, which are being live-streamed from Northampton Cathedral to six hubs across the diocese, including Milton Keynes, Luton, Aylesbury, Corby, Slough, and Bedford. These inspiring evenings began on Tuesday, 13th May and will continue every Tuesday until 17th June.
The first seminar, entitled Finding New Life in the Holy Spirit, was presented by renowned Catholic speaker Charles Whitehead. Reflecting on his deep connection to the Diocese of Northampton, Charles shared that he has been part of the diocese since 1968 and was heavily involved in youth ministry and global speaking engagements. His presence at Northampton Cathedral marked his first return after some years, bringing with him a powerful message of God’s boundless love and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit.
In his talk, Charles emphasised that the Holy Spirit is always ready to pour out God’s love upon those who are willing to receive it. Drawing from Revelation 21:6 and Revelation 22:17, he spoke of God’s promise to give ‘water without price from the fountain of the water of life’ to those who thirst for it. He passionately articulated that this divine love is unconditional, available to everyone regardless of their past or current state.
Charles also shared powerful personal testimonies of encountering God’s love in a deeply transformative way, reminding attendees that God is Love (1 John 4:16) and that He invites each person to receive that love personally. He encouraged participants to not only understand God’s love intellectually but to live it out daily through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Life in the Spirit Seminars are an invitation for all to experience this renewal of faith, regardless of their journey so far. They are designed to deepen one’s understanding and relationship with the Holy Spirit, inspiring personal transformation and a closer walk with God.
The next seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, 20th May, and all are welcome to join at their nearest hub or follow the live stream from Northampton Cathedral.
