Parishioners at St Bernardine’s Catholic Church in Buckingham gathered with joy and gratitude on Sunday, 1st June after the 11am Mass to mark the blessing of a new outdoor shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes.
The statue, generously donated by a parishioner and his family, now stands in a purpose-built grotto in the church garden. In a short ceremony led by parish priest Father Bosco, prayers were offered, thanks were extended to all those involved, and a hymn to Our Lady brought the celebration to a close.
Many parishioners stayed on to enjoy the usual Sunday refreshments and time to connect with one another. The gathering also included the monthly draw for the popular parish 200 Club.
It was another joyful occasion in the life of the parish community at St Bernardine’s – a testament to the faith, generosity, and fellowship that characterise this vibrant part of the Diocese of Northampton.
