On Saturday 13th December, the Diocese gathered to celebrate the opening of the St. Elena House of Mission & Prayer with the celebration of Mass.
The Mass was celebrated by Fr Simon, Episcopal Vicar for Mission, and concelebrated by the Vicar General, Canon Michael Harrison, and Fr Jithu James, Assistant Priest at the Cathedral. Trustees of the Diocese, along with friends and supporters, joined members of Mission Northampton for this joyful occasion, giving thanks for this new initiative in the life of the Diocese.
St. Elena House is currently home to a small community made up of Beth, Kacey and Marielle, who have committed themselves to a life of prayer and mission, seeking to serve Our Lord in a deeper and more intentional way. The House is envisioned as a place rooted in prayer, with plans to develop 24/7 Eucharistic Adoration, supported by the wider diocesan community.
Alongside its prayerful foundation, St. Elena House of Mission & Prayer will be a welcoming space for those wishing to explore faith, prayer and discipleship. A particular focus of its mission is to reach out to those who do not yet know God and to share the transforming love of God revealed in Jesus Christ.
The opening of St. Elena House marks an important step in strengthening the Diocese’s commitment to mission, evangelisation and prayer, and invites all to support this new work through prayer and involvement.
