The Catholic community of Northampton is invited to a significant and joyful event as the Rite of Election takes place at the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate and St Thomas of Canterbury on Sunday, 9 March, at 3:00 pm.
The Rite of Election marks an important step for catechumens—those preparing for baptism—on their journey of faith. In this special service, they will be formally recognised and called to the Easter sacraments by Bishop David Oakley, alongside candidates who are preparing for full communion with the Catholic Church.
This annual celebration brings together parishes from across the Diocese of Northampton in a powerful expression of faith and unity. Families, sponsors, and parish communities are warmly encouraged to attend and support those taking this next step in their spiritual journey.
