The Diocese of Northampton is thrilled to announce the upcoming visit of the two National Pilgrim Statues of Our Lady of Fatima, along with the sacred relics of Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto, as they journey to Cathedrals and Catholic shrines throughout England and Wales between May 2025 and October 2026. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the World Apostolate of Fatima (WAF) Team for organising this inspiring national pilgrimage.
The statues and relics will be at Northampton Cathedral on Saturday, 21st June 2025, offering our diocesan family a profound opportunity for prayer, reflection, and renewal.
In this Jubilee Year of Hope, the bishops of England and Wales highlight the enduring significance of the Fatima apparitions, which call the faithful to peace, prayer, and penance. They encourage all Catholics to deepen their love for the Eucharist and the sacraments, recommending the Five First Saturdays devotion as a powerful way to embrace Our Lady’s message.
Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto, young shepherds from Aljustrel near Fatima, were privileged, alongside their cousin Lucia dos Santos, to witness the Blessed Virgin Mary’s appearances between May and October 1917. Our Lady asked them to pray the Rosary daily and offer sacrifices for the salvation of souls, leaving a message that continues to inspire believers worldwide.
We warmly invite you to join us for this special day of celebration and grace at Northampton Cathedral:
