We Dare to Ask is the 2026 Lenten resource and the third in the We Dare to… series, following We Dare to Say (2024), focused on the Lord’s Prayer, and We Dare to Hope (2025), inspired by the Jubilee theme Pilgrims of Hope. This new resource invites individuals and small groups to deepen their appreciation of the gift given in Christian Baptism and to reflect prayerfully on the Baptismal promises renewed each Easter.
Comprised of five sessions, We Dare to Ask places Baptism at the heart of the Christian life. Drawing on Scripture, prayer, reflective meditations, and beautiful sacred art, each session explores how Baptism is rooted in God’s plan of salvation and calls us to a new way of living in Christ. The resource is suitable for all stages of faith: those baptised long ago, families celebrating recent baptisms, and those preparing for baptism themselves.
In his foreword, Abbot Hugh Allan, O. Praem., Director of Mission at the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales, reflects on how recent Popes have described their baptism as the most important day of their lives. Baptism, he reminds us, is not simply membership of the Church but the gateway to life in union with the Most Holy Trinity. While the day of our baptism marks the beginning of our journey, each Easter offers a renewed opportunity to say with faith and conviction, “Yes, Lord, I believe.”
This Lenten journey is an invitation to rediscover that we do not simply say we were baptised, but we are baptised, called daily to grow in Christlikeness through the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we journey towards our heavenly Father. The full resource and individual session materials are available online via the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.
