Young people from across the diocese of Northampton joined NYMO, our diocesan youth ministry team at the weekend for the latest in the series of the LUX residential weekends.

This year the group focussed on the theme of ‘Flawless’, a theme derived from the synod feedback from young people and they had time to reflect on being chosen but not perfect. They were encouraged to consider what being chosen by God is and that God even uses our imperfections.

One youth leader said of the weekend,

The weekend was filled with new friendships, team building activities, prayer stations, Adoration, testimonies, questions … the big debate, ‘Science v Religion’, a Reptile farm (!), singing, dancing, Mass with Bishop David, morning prayers, night prayers and more!

Students were given time to explore faith in new ways and time to consider where they are in their own faith journey. Early mornings, late nights and great leaders, music and food … who could ask for more!

Thank you Diocese of Northampton and NYMO for a great weekend!

The weekend was attended by young people aged 11-18 years of age. All left the weekend having had a great time and one parent said

Thank you to all. My daughter had an amazing time and I am so grateful for this opportunity for her. It has helped her understand her faith better and on the same level helped her to make good friends outside of her school and neighbourhood.

NYMO have announced the dates of their next event, the Lifeteen Summercamp at Alton Castle, 13th -17th August. For more information visit www.kenelmyouthtrust.org.uk/summer-camp
