Explore God’s call to the priesthood with the Diocese of Northampton

The Diocese of Northampton warmly invites men who are exploring or discerning a call to the priesthood to join a day of prayer, reflection, and honest conversation. “Come and See” is a relaxed and supportive opportunity to listen to God’s call and learn more about life as a diocesan priest.

Who is this day for?

This day is for any man who is exploring, questioning, or discerning whether God may be calling him to the priesthood. You do not need to be certain about your vocation, this is a relaxed and supportive environment to reflect and ask questions.

Do I need to be Catholic?

Ideally participants are Catholic or in the process of becoming Catholic, as the day will focus on diocesan priestly life and formation. If you’re unsure, we encourage you to contact Fr Pius to discuss your situation.

Do I need to be a certain age?

The day is generally aimed at adult men, so as long as you are over 18, there is no strict age requirement. We welcome anyone who feels called to explore the priesthood.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code so please wear what you are comfortable in. The focus is on discernment and reflection.

What happens during the day?

The programme includes:

  • Prayer and reflection
  • Talks about life as a diocesan priest
  • Open Q&A with priests and seminarians
  • The day is structured but relaxed, allowing plenty of time for personal reflection.
Do I need to register?

Yes, we kindly ask you to register your interest beforehand. You can do this by contacting Fr Pius via email or phone, or through our online registration form

Is the day free?

Yes, there is no cost to attend.

Will I be pressured to join the priesthood?

Absolutely not. This day is for prayerful reflection and honest exploration. There is no obligation, our goal is simply to help you discern God’s call in a supportive environment.
