Priestly Formation
Supported by the Priests Training FundThe Church seeks to nurture every priest so that he can develop in ministry and sustain the ever increasing demands of modern priesthood.
In the Diocese of Northampton there is a team of priests who organise an annual training program for their brother priests. This program is designed to support the priest in his own responsibilty for individual ongoing formation.
Compulsory training is offered annually in safeguarding and all new parish priests are required to undertake training with our professional curial team in areas such as finance and governance, safeguarding, property, communications and administration.
Alongside the training and formation program, the Bishop has appointed and Amicus Clero or friend of the clergy. This priest is available to spiritually support his brothers by listening and praying with them.
