Our Youth Ministry Office forms part of the Prophet Vicariate and exists to support the building of relationship between the local church (Youth Ministers) and young poeple. You may wish to read our latest strategy for youth ministry here.
Each year, we review our ministry in the light of these aims, to make sure that we are working towards our long-term goal. This ongoing process of review enables us to best serve youth ministry in the Diocese.
At all times we aim to:
• support and complement local youth ministry
• offer experiences of the wider Church to young people and youth leaders
• communicate the messages from the wider Church to, and from, young people.
The office supports parishes in all aspects of youth ministry helping them to grow their own resources, skills and experience.
NYMO, also organise a number of varied events for the young people of our diocese where together they can grow, learn and share their faith, alongside their local youth minister.
These events are always well attended and include:
Youth ministry conference
For clergy, youth leaders, youth ministers, volunteers, confirmation catechists and all who love young people in our Church.
Lux
Lux is an annual residential Catholic retreat for young people of secondary school age.
